Meeting Doodle
Had a little fun yesterday drawing with a pitt pen during a company meeting . I need to post more of the junky drawings I do. My blog started with a variety of finished states in the art I posted ranging from finished to rough but I have started noticing lately that I tend to only post the more finished stuff I draw. Is it just me or do others kind of get this way too?

Mud and Sports
This is for the drawing challenge at my work that ended about a week ago. I almost didn't do it as I am not a huge sports fan, but I did play a little when I was very young so I thought I would do a little something for old time sake. I always remember it was best played in the snow, mud, or by robots on a Nintendo.

Jawa Angler
Another work drawing challenge. Nothing inspired my younger years like Star Wars did. I spent countless hours thinking and drawing creatures/characters that could exist in the Star Wars universe...maybe too many hours.

Fire on a Grassy Knoll
This images started out as a replacement for my current avatar but it soon ended up going a little further than I had planned on taking it. I was asked by a couple people about what he was standing on so I decided to do a little bus sketch of what lies beneath the hill before posting up the image. Enjoy my "almost" avatar.

Sketchbook Book Dump

This was a character I used to draw when I was a kid. He had a companion that was a big snail. I think their was a third too, a zombie of some sort or a voodoo doll. Between the three of them their kryptonite was salt, fish and, Christianity. I had some odd ideas when I was a kid. I may have even done a short comic about these guys. I should look through my archives.

This mustached guy was just what came out of the hour and ten minute bus ride I take to work.

This image has been colored by a couple people here at work for an exercise on painting. Not everyone posted their colored versions...not even me but I will get around to it. Ryan Wood did a really nice one that he posted up on his blog. If anyone wants to color it, just send me an email and I'll send you a high res version.

More CL2 Art
A couple more pieces of concept art from CL2. I keep forgetting to post this stuff up. I actually have tons of really rough sketches I should post too if I can remember to dig through my junk and find them. Like I said before, this project was a blast to work on.
Ace drawing and colors by me.

More Brush Pen and Marker Sketches

marker drawing
Fun with markers and a brush pen. A little quicky that I have been meaning to post up. Itss funny how sometimes the quickest dirtiest version of a chracter can have more appeal than a more refined version. I often times like my roughs more than the finished design. This is definetly one of those...or maybe I just have sloppy taste.

Chicken Little II Vehicles
Below are some of the vehicle designs I did for CL2. I have some other more rough ones that I will most likely dig up and post later but until then, here ya go.
Drawing by me and colors by Kristen Yee, an artist here at Avalanche that should have a website/blog but doesn't. I really liked how this one turned out.
I was very heavily involved with the Runt tank levels in the game. I designed tons of stuff for all the levels and even got to design and color the tank. Road and I built all the levels for the tank levels and a good portion of the objects.
I thought that a flying squirrel fighter would be a cool solution for the saturn air levels. Sebastien's color job made it twice as cool.

Rockstar part II
I had planned on doing three characters for the Avalanche art challenge this go round but am only on the second one. I think this has been one of my favorite art challenge themes so far. Making characters and costumes for funky entertainers is a blast. It would be fun to create a whole band.

Markers and the Flu
I was sick Thursday and Friday and ended up sitting on the couching watching cartoons and drawing all day. If it wasn't for the feeling like there were piranhas devouring each other in my stomach it would have been a fun break from work. These are just a few of the many drawings I did while I was sick. I have a couple that I am going to start coloring and will post them when they are done. I forgot how fun drawing with markers is.

Rockstar and a Demi God
My latest two work challenge drawings. I forgot to post the Nature god here a couple weeks back when I posted it on the avalanche blog. The first is my rockstar and the second is my nature god of fresh water crustaceans and love.

Happy Birthday to me...last Saturday.

Birthday cards are really great, especially when you rip them up to make things. This image used to be part of a birthday card that I got over the weekend. My apologies to the giver of this fine card but the colorful pattern was too cool to pass up. It reminded me of dripping wax off of birthday candles and the wallpaper in my room when I was a kid.

Chicken Little II...might as well
Thought I should post up some stuff from Chicken Little II before I forget again. Pluto was my favorite level to design for. Everything was very girthy, prison-like, and dog centric. I think that bulldogs and Boston terriers where the biggest influence as we where trying to give the whole planet(at least the technology) a guard dog feel. The work below is definitely a collaboration between several artists in order to get the finished result. The drawings/designs on these characters are mine but the coloring I will have to credit Sam Nielson and Sebastien Gallego, two of my very talented co-workers. Hopefully I will get around to posting more Chicken Little II stuff in the near future.
Buff Ruff is the warden for the prison planet. Drawing by me colors by Sam.
Foot soldier. It was harder than you would think to come up with a cool mechanical guard dog character. In the end it turned out pretty cool though. Drawing by me colors by Sam.
The mech was really fun to design. I crossed a mech with a dog and an old police cruiser and got some really fun results. Drawing by me colors by Sebastien.
The turret was supposed to be used with the Pluto ship levels as a kind of anti-aircraft weapon. I don't remember if it ever made it in. Drawing by me colors by Sebastien.

Ode to inspiration...part II
No one inspired my teens more than Mike Mignola. One of the first two comics I ever bought was a Mignola book with Wolverine in the jungle. Since then I have been a big fan boy of his work. So this one I dedicate To Mr. Mignola and his awesomeness.

happy late Valentines day
Another one for my work drawing challenge thing. The topic was, I HEART U/TOO CUTE FOR COMFORT. Hopefully this is too cute for comfort, or at least mabye just disconcerting.

Ode to inspiration...The 3 Armed Swordsman
Got a James Christensen book the other day and have been feeling really inspired by how much detail he puts into his work, especially the clothes. I usually leave things as simple as possible but thought that I would kind of try my hand at a very elaborate costume. In addition to James Christensen, I would also like to dedicate this drawing to cartoons, comics, geography reference books, unrefined sugar, birds, and the number 5.

Old Hag and Talking Toad
This is another one for my work art challenge. I thought that a hag who is plotting to rule the world with her talking toad could make for a funny villainous duo.

Paisano
This is loosely based on a guy I knew in Argentina. Although the lack of maté in the image makes it a little incomplete. Maybe I need to do version II.

Here are some cool blogs that deal with Argentine folklore and tourism. They are pretty awesome.

Junk Drawings
I always have tons of drawings sitting around that I won't really ever do anything with. They are usually unfinished, rough, ugly beginnings of an idea that could possibly hatch into something after a few versions. I have been thinking recently that I should just post some up and at least let people look at em before they find their way to a dark drawer in my desk or the waste basket.
