Mud and Sports

This is for the drawing challenge at my work that ended about a week ago. I almost didn't do it as I am not a huge sports fan, but I did play a little when I was very young so I thought I would do a little something for old time sake. I always remember it was best played in the snow, mud, or by robots on a Nintendo.

He's a hard-core fan of getting muddy, if not of the sport itself. You can tell. Great stuff Joe! Love your line work!

Haha. I'll go for the robots on Nintendo. I was always horrible at sports; being short and totally a daydreamer, but I could hold my own on the Nintendo playing field.

Great kid here. The mud and the band-aid are great, but I like the way the jersey and pants make it look like a back yard game, as opposed to organized. That's where the real sport is played; in the neighbor's huge yard before he comes home and runs you off.

It's o.k. to be an artist but not a sports fan. Ryan had one of his neighbors come into or character design class last week where he demonstrated what nerds all of us animators are. Ryan asked how many of us were up to date on what was going on in baseball. The guy was amazed to see not a single person raised their hand. Then we went on to find out that only a small handful even watched the BYU football games.

May nerds someday rule the earth.
