whale-a-rhante

Edit: Darkened down the sky. Makes it more moody.

I have always been obsessed with oceanic and aquatic life so a lot of my sketchbook drawings turn into marine creatures. This was a sketch out of my book that I thought would be fun to color. I still don't feel like it is finished, but it is getting there. Hopefully I'll finish it here soon.

Here is the original sketch.

Nicely done. I kinda wish the colors would emphasize the overall shape better (eg. Silhouetting against the background or something), but I really like the mix of hues.

Thanks for the comments guys and gal. Sam, I think that is right exactly what it lacks. I will have to do some adjustments and add an updated version. Ty, you think you are so Kelly. this was done with MS paint airbrush and an eyebrow pencil. Then I did a little touch up with Painter...I hope you believe this.

I love the design! That is a great looking beast of the sea. I also like the scale of the horn. That thing coming at you in the water is a lot scarier than a shark fin. Then again, this guy looks pretty relaxed and friendly. Very cool, Joe.

JOE!!
many times i have seen you waiting to catch your bus. I have gazed on you as my bus passed (waving my arms like i was doing jumping jacks in gym class to get you to notice).. me... like school girl with a crush----you didn't even know i was alive.

wow...! your stuff is really looking great. Seems you are learning great things. Much more refined than the older stuff- such a pro...

GREAT WORK!
This silly whale could destroy spaceships with a single distraction. Now I know who destroy the last Enterprise.
